Seniors' Day at the Sachsen Forum: Celebration for the 60+ generation in Dresden!

On October 1st, 2025 it's that time again: Senior Citizens' Day is on the program at the Sachsen Forum in Dresden. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the forum, in good company with the Cotta seniors' network, invites you to a colorful celebration day for the older generations. Here we not only celebrate, but also inform and actively participate. The event concept fits the occasion perfectly International Day of the Older Generation, which has been celebrated by the United Nations since 1991 to shine a spotlight on the concerns and social role of older people.

Seniors' Day is enriched by a varied program that offers something for every taste. Information stands and hands-on activities invite you to browse and try things out, while lectures provide information on topics such as “Living Safely – Safely at Home”. A musical supporting program ensures a good atmosphere, and in the cozy atmosphere of the seniors' café, there is no shortage of culinary delights with coffee, cake and a warm lunch.

A day full of activities

Things also get sporty with activities such as yoga, seated dance and head and body training. There is also a smartphone consultation that is intended to help older people find their way better in the digital world. With live music and an exciting round of bingo, entertainment and fun cannot be missed. This makes Seniors' Day not just an information event, but a real community experience.

Getting there is easy: visitors can take tram lines 2 and 7 to the Merianplatz stop, and free parking spaces are available at the Sachsen Forum for those coming by car. The Federal Association of Senior Citizens' Organizations (BAGSO) Meanwhile, supports the celebrations across Germany and has created the motto “YES to old age” in order to promote a positive image of old age in society.

Celebrate and inform together

The event brings together around 35 organizations, from the DGB to social associations and churches, creating a place for exchange and information. Together we point out how important seniors are in our society and what challenges they have to overcome.
