Closures on the A17: diversions and traffic jams on Tuesday in Dresden!
What's new in Dresden? Drivers will have to prepare for various construction sites and traffic disruptions over the next few days, primarily affecting the motorways and some streets in the Dresden area. A central point is the impending closure of the entrance to the Dresden-Südvorstadt junction in the direction of Prague, which will come into force on the night of Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The reason for this measure is urgently needed work on overhead electrical lines. MDR informed that the closure is expected to last throughout Tuesday and traffic will be rerouted. In addition, there are restrictions in the entrance and exit area of the junction to and from the B170 in order to be able to carry out the diversions effectively.
But that's not all. Traffic stops have been announced between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, which could cost commuters and travelers additional time. It is therefore advisable to plan early and consider alternative routes if necessary.

Anyone traveling towards Prague should also be prepared for disruptions: On the A17 between the Harthetunnel and the Am Heidenholz Ost rest area, there will be a blockage due to an accident, which will result in traffic jams. Saxony Police
Construction site information system Saxony
To make planning easier for road users, the Free State of Saxony has set up a modern construction site information system. From now on, up-to-date information on construction sites on federal, state and district roads can be accessed via the mobile library LASUV. This system comprehensively displays all traffic restrictions that currently exist, from full closures to partial closures.
In this way, affected drivers can plan better and possibly avoid longer traffic jams or diversions. The goal is reliable traffic planning that meets the needs of all road users. It is therefore advisable to check the current information before starting your journey and, if necessary, adjust the route in order to reach your destination with less stress.
