On May 31, 2025, there was a thrilling duel between TV Hüttenberg and HC Elbflorenz Dresden in the exciting promotion battle of the 2nd Handball Bundesliga. Hüttenberg won 29:23 in front of the home crowd and thus maintained its place in the upper table region. After this defeat, Dresden now faces major challenges, while Hüttenberg remains undefeated at home.
With this victory, TV Hüttenberg secures its current second place in the table. The pursuer GWD Minden, also on course for promotion, has the same number of points but a slightly worse goal difference. Minden will have to prove itself in the upcoming game against Dessau-Roßlauer HV, while Hüttenberg will play against Eulen Ludwigshafen on June 7th.
