SVV Plauen shines with nine medals at the state youth games!

SVV Plauen performed impressively at this year's Sparkasse State Youth Games in Dresden. The Vogtlanders took part in this important event with 16 talented swimmers born between 2011 and 2017. They met a total of around 6,500 athletes from various sports in the swimming pool at Freiberger Platz, where almost 3,300 starts were recorded. It was a true celebration of swimming, which is evident in these impressive numbers, reports the Free press.

The young swimmers from SVV Plauen showed remarkable performances and were able to consistently achieve good results. Felix Mocker particularly shone, taking home five gold medals. He particularly demonstrated his strength in the middle distances. Vin-Nino Prager was also able to come up with a complete set of medals over the sprint distances - 50 m backstroke, butterfly and freestyle SVV Plauen website informed.

Achievements and placements

Felix Mocker not only won in the middle distances, but also secured silver in the distances of 50, 100 and 200 m breaststroke as well as bronze in the 200 m freestyle and 200 m individual medley. His teammate Karl Rudolph was also successful and achieved a silver medal in the 50 m dolphin leg movement. Fourth and fifth place went to Luisa Eckner, Frieda Rudolph, Frida-Malin Wunderlich and Nils Zwerner, who all fought bravely through the competition.

The 4×50 m medley relay, in which Vin-Nino Prager, Felix Mocker, Kevin Winter and Frida-Malin Wunderlich were able to compete, posed a special challenge. Although they swam a new personal best, they narrowly missed the podium. However, the atmosphere during the competitions was not only characterized by sporting ambition, but also by a sense of community: the team stayed overnight in the Dresden youth guest house and attended an athletes' party in the Citybeach Dresden, which further strengthened the team spirit.

A look into the future

The German swimming youth has already planned various events that not only promote sporting activities, but also focus on education and community interaction. The program includes further training and youth trips that are intended to strengthen social skills and team spirit.
