Police warn: Attempted burglary in Königstein causes excitement!
There are currently some interesting but also worrying incidents in the region around Pirna and the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains. In recent days, the police have published several reports that paint a colorful, if worrying, picture. From an attempted car break-in in Königstein to traffic accidents and missing people – there is a lot to report.
A serious incident occurred in Königstein, where an Opel Corsa on Elbhäuserweg was targeted by burglars between Thursday and Monday. Despite damaging the door lock, the perpetrators were unable to break into the vehicle. The material damage caused amounts to around 1000 euros, as stated Saxon newspaper reported.
Traffic accidents and their consequences
The current traffic accidents in the region are certainly no less worrying. On Sunday morning there was an accident on the federal highway 101 between Pirna and Radeberg, which led to severe traffic delays and a temporary closure of the road. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, which was probably due to the fact that the rescue workers were on site quickly.
Another incident concerns the K 723 in Freital, which had to be closed between Eisenbahnstraße and Kreuzburger Straße after a wooden roof fell down. The authorities are trying to improve the security situation in the region, including the planned deployment of police and traffic guards.
Missing person reports and violent crime
The situation in the region is made particularly tragic by the missing report of a 35-year-old man from the Pirna area. He has been missing since Saturday evening and police and emergency services are searching for him. Information from the public is urgently desired.
But there is also cause for concern in the area of violent crime: a 25-year-old woman in Freital was attacked by her partner on Monday morning. The police are investigating bodily harm and are asking witnesses for information about the crime scene.

Overall, the situation in the region remains tense. While the police continue to intensively search for the missing man, efforts to combat violent and traffic crime are also in focus.
