Art and full moon: Andreas Hinkels fascinating exhibition in Dresden!
In the pulsating art scene of Dresden, there is reason to be happy: on June 11, 2025, at the time of the full moon, the new exhibition "Ambivalence at the late hour" by Hinkel in full moon gallery in the Hechtstraße 17 opened. The vernissage takes place at 8:00 p.m. and admission is free. This exhibition will be seen by July 9th and is already an exciting event for art lovers.
Andreas Hinkel, born in Saxony in 1959, made a name for himself through his impressive works. After studying Prof. Gottfried Bammes in Dresden, he initially worked as a theater painter in Radebeul. In 1994 he opened his first gallery in Jülich and since 2011 he has been running the NO7 Kunsthaus in Starkenberg, Ot Naundorf in Thuringia. There he regularly shows his passion for painting and brings a breath of fresh air to the art landscape.
art and nature combined
The works of Hinkel are characterized by a deep connection to nature. His painting in oil on canvas is characterized by earth -connected and magnificent color pallets that convey subtle messages about and convey off. These stylistic features order him the Leipzig School to a current of modern painting that flourished in the 1970s and 1980s. Artists of this movement, such as Bernhard Heisig and Wolfgang Mattheuer, were known for their critical approaches and passionate color treatment, which can also be found in Hinkel's work.
The Full Moon Gallery, an art space of the youth and culture project e.V., has developed into a popular place for exhibitions since 2020. The gallery offers a platform for creative minds and has already presented eleven individual and joint exhibition. Hinkel's exhibition is supplemented by nine large, illuminated shop windows at night, which also make the work and topics of the artist tangible outside the gallery.
A look at the Leipzig school
The Leipzig school is not a closed style, but an exciting juxtaposition of different forms of expression, which was shaped by a variety of artists. This current not only offers depth in painting, but also a conscious social analysis. From Walter Arnold to Neo Rauch, many artists have left their traces and Hinkel also contributes to this great legacy of art history with his individual handwriting.
The opening of "Ambivalence at the late hour" not only invites art lovers, but also newcomers to the world of painting. A visit promises a deep insight into the creative-artistic creative power of Andreas Hinkel, in which closeness to nature and stylistic diversity meet.
