Elbhangfest 2025: Over 200 events and a feast for all the senses!

The Elbhangfest, a popular and colorful event in Dresden, is just around the corner and is enjoying a particularly large variety this year. From Friday, June 27th to Sunday, June 29th, 2025, the picturesque districts of Loschwitz to Pillnitz will be transformed into a festival landscape under the motto “Faith and the Grape”. More than 200 free events await visitors, including concerts, disco, exhibitions and culinary highlights, as radiodresden.de reports.

A real highlight are the approximately 250 participating artists who enrich the Elbhangfest. This shows the creative diversity of the region. Holger Friebel from the Elbhangfest Association emphasizes that the program flyer has become more extensive this year in order to offer visitors as many exciting experiences as possible. The attractions are numerous: from the “Altloschwitz promenade”, which extends from the ElbeGarten to the wine village in the park at the Schillerschule, to the street exhibitions and cabaret on Pillnitzer Landstrasse.

A colorful range of events

The list of events is impressive. Among other things, there will be a new circular route that focuses on “Faith and the Grape Hosterwitz – Pillnitz” and leads through the picturesque vineyards. Among the many program items, regular offerings are planned in Loschwitzer, Hosterwitzer and the Weinbergkirche, which underline the cultural relevance of these celebrations. As saechsische.de highlights, there are a total of 255 program items at 80 venues, including private gardens and churches and several stages in the districts.

Particularly noteworthy are the 71 private initiatives, which present a wide range of offers. This includes painting and graphic exhibitions, lectures on the subject of ecological building and even craft activities for the little festival visitors. Visitors can also look forward to a silent disco in the Krachwitz youth village - a successful continuation of the trend that allows young and old to enjoy music without causing any noise.

transport and organization

There is a notable change this year: Pillnitzer Landstrasse will not be closed as usual due to increased terrorism protection requirements. In order to enable visitors to travel stress-free, a shuttle bus is used between Loschwitz and Pillnitz. The organizers hope that there will be little private car traffic in order to ensure relaxed interaction among festival visitors.

This Elbe slope festival really promises to be a feast for the senses, and it looks as if the organizers have a good hand at ensuring that none of the numerous guests are left behind. Anyone who has the opportunity should not miss this event and enjoy the cultural diversity and the warm atmosphere. The anticipation for the Elbhangfest is definitely palpable and invites you to spend the next few days devoted to art, culture and cuisine - as with the previous festivals, which were always a complete success, such as the 2017 edition, which had the motto "Martin's Most and Katharina's Apples", reports so-leben-dresden.de.
