Heiderand in Dresden-Bühlau: New star restaurant conquers the palate!

Dresden-Bühlau, Deutschland - The "Heiderand" restaurant in Dresden-Bühlau managed to secure a prestigious Michelin star. According to Radio Leipzig it is the latest member of the exquisite circle of star restaurants in Saxony. Now there are a total of nine such restaurants in the state that have been awarded for their extraordinary culinary services.

The culinary landscape of Saxony is enriched by the "Heiderand", which now exists in addition to established facilities such as the "Elements" and "pleasure studio" in Dresden as well as the "Frieda", "Stadtpfeiffer" and "Kuultivo" in Leipzig. The "Atelier Sanssouci" in Radebeul, the "St. Andreas" in Aue-Bad Schlema and the "Juwel" in the hotel "Bei Schumann" in Schirgiswalde-Kirschau are also among the stars of the region.

tradition meets modern

The "Heiderand" is now the fourth generation of Martin Walther, whose great-grandparents opened the restaurant in 1904 as a café. In 2020 Walther took over the restaurant and switched it to modern gourmet art, with the focus on fresh, regionality and local vegetables. "We are constantly working on improving the quality of our dishes and offering guests an unforgettable experience," said Walther to mdr .

The meaning of the Michelin star cannot be assessed high enough. It is awarded for one year and is based on criteria such as the quality of the products, a personal touch, the price-performance ratio and the same quality. In Germany, 341 gourmet restaurants are currently listed in the new "Guide Michelin", among which there are also 12 with three stars and 47 with two stars.

other awards

In addition to the Michelin star, the catering scene is also recognized by the restaurant guide "Gault & Millau". Here, outstanding chefs and restaurants are awarded hoods. The Gault & Millau is considered one of the most important gourmet leaders in Germany and also focuses on quality and creativity in gastronomy.

The award of the "Heiderand" is not only a personal triumph for Martin Walther and his team, but also a further proof of the aspiring gourmet scene in Saxony. "We are pleased to be part of this impressive restaurant culture and continue the tradition of upscale gastronomy in Dresden," says Walther. With the Michelin star, the "Heiderand" gains excellent visibility and now moves more gourmets to the Saxon capital.
