Dresden in football fever: Rotation voluntarily moves to the city's upper league!

TSV Rotation Dresden is facing a significant turning point in its club history: the first team will voluntarily be relegated to the city's upper league, although there is still mathematically the possibility of remaining in the league. Coach Michel Grabs, who has been working at the club since 2018, announced that personnel problems triggered this step. His planned return to his previous club, FV Süd-West Dresden, could be related to this decision, as some players may follow him. Over the last seven years, Grabs and the team have been able to look back on many successful moments, and now they want to finish the season properly.

The club's second team, on the other hand, has reason to be happy: they are currently leading the city league A table and could actually be promoted to the city league. However, the team will not be able to promote because the new first team will be made up of players from the second team. With Felix Schulz, the record goalscorer, an old friend will take over the reins as the new coach. The 28-year-old scored an incredible 102 goals last season and also has a very special career: he used to play in the B-Junior Bundesliga for Dynamo Dresden until an injury abruptly ended his professional career in Neugersdorf.

The future of rotation

Felix Schulz, who is completing his C license as a coach, is also planning to give his farewell tour as a player in the 2025/26 season. Since his return after his injury, he has been playing for TSV Rotation Dresden II since summer 2022 and is also working as a coach for the B juniors. Schulz emphasizes how important his team and family are to his success so far. His father is a coach, and they share the joy of football not only in the game, but also in training, where Schulz is active with his brother and friends.

Schulz receives support from Christian Ebert, the team's sporting director. Ebert has set himself the goal of further developing young talents while maintaining the game operations with a total of three men's teams. In order to achieve this, he needs at least 40 players, which presents new challenges for those responsible for the club.

A look at development

Football has changed enormously since its beginnings and will continue to break new ground in the future. From the game's origins in ancient China, represented by the Cuju, to the professional league that has taken hold in Germany since the 70s, it is a journey full of changes. Today we are not only witnessing the professionalization of sport, but also technologies that are revolutionizing the way spectators experience football.

The TSV Rotation decision not only has an impact on the club's current structures, but also shows how dynamic football is as a whole. Where some paths lead to a new beginning, others have to free yourself from old baggage. This deserves both attention and support from the entire football community.

An exciting time lies ahead for all fans of TSV Rotation. While the first team gets off to a new start in the city's top league, one can only imagine what an exciting chapter the coming season could bring for the second team.
