Cultural Summer 2025: Dresden celebrates with art, music and enjoyment!

Summer in Dresden brings with it a breath of fresh air and a variety of cultural pleasures! From open-air concerts to exciting art exhibitions, the city promises a time full of exciting highlights that shouldn't be missed. This year the cultural summer will be particularly colorful and lively.

It has a very special place in the program Show booth summer which will take place from July 1st to 3rd, 2025 on the main street between the old and new towns. Here the connection between these two districts is celebrated with a fantastic mix of international street art, acrobatics, music and street theater. Admission is free and donations are welcome to support the artists. Every day from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the festival offers first-class entertainment for young and old!

A feast for the senses

Another highlight of the summer program is the15th Dresden Palace Night, which will take place on July 19, 2025 in the beautiful parks of Albrechtsberg Castle, Lingner Castle, Eckberg Castle and the Saloppe. Over 80 concerts and 300 artists await visitors, and culinary delicacies are also offered at over 60 stands. A magnificent fireworks display creates magical moments at the end of the night. Entrance fees vary, but there is definitely something to suit every budget.

Anyone interested in the sport should check it outFINALS 2025Not to be missed, which will take place from July 31st to August 3rd in the Heinz Steyer Stadium and other sports venues. Here athletes compete in 20 different sports for 133 German championship titles. The majority of the competitions are free of charge - an ideal opportunity to cheer on the local athletes!

Artistic development and enjoyment

TheCANALETTO – The Dresden city festivalfrom August 15th to 17th will be a stage for over 1,500 artists. On these days, the city center is transformed into a colorful festival with 10 stages, street theater and great activities for children. Everyone gets their money’s worth here – and entry is free!

The stylish one is also impressivePalace Summer, which takes place until August 24th on the open-air stage on Neumarkt and in Alaunpark. Here visitors can expect 200 events with 120 artists from 17 countries, yoga sessions and regional delicacies. This enjoyment is also free, the atmosphere is sure to be unique! Fancy some wine? TheOpen winery dayson August 30th and 31st in the Elbland between Pirna and Diesbar-Seußlitz invite you to wine tasting - 50 winemakers are looking forward to presenting their fine wines.

Experience and discover art

Another absolute must is the exhibition “Water Worlds” by Danka Kirchner, which focuses on people's fascinating relationship with water. Magnificent oil paintings show competitive swimmers and emotional scenes by the water that convey freedom and joy. This enchanting exhibition can be viewed free of charge in the Nordbad and is a wonderful opportunity to discover your own creativity.

For cinema fans this offersFilm nights on the banks of the ElbeA varied open-air cinema with concerts and family films until August 31st. Those tooYoung Guard open-air stagein the Great Garden has a program until August 27th - from concerts to comedy and cabaret there is a lot on offer.

Last but not least, theOSTRALE Biennale O25with the motto “Never Grey”, which will be in the robotron canteen and other locations in Dresden until October 5th, offers an exciting insight into the contemporary art scene with 106 artists from 32 countries.

In September and October we will continue with other exciting events, such as: B. theCultural summer at the Weißer Hirsch concert site, which also includes over 200 events. It's now clear at the latest: Summer in Dresden has so much to offer that there really is something for everyone!
