The city center of Dresden is currently the focus of the police after several incidents have cast doubt on the security situation in the city in recent days. Last night, a 20-year-old man was attacked by three perpetrators on Alaunstrasse. They harassed the victim during a nighttime walk, beat him and threatened him with a knife. The robbery went smoothly, but the victim suffered minor injuries. The police were able to arrest the suspects a short time later Saxon reported.

But there were also turbulent scenes in the Outer Neustadt. On Friday night, several people were attacked by a group. Among the victims was a 26-year-old who was attacked with gas and beaten by the perpetrators. Another 36-year-old was also beaten and a 19-year-old was attacked with bottles. The police were able to arrest a 23-year-old Tunisian and seize two cell phones.

At another crime scene, Postplatz, a 25-year-old man was the victim of a robbery. A 33-year-old was threatened with a knife and relieved of 200 euros. Fortunately, this victim was also uninjured and the perpetrator was arrested nearby. All of these attacks are leading to general concern among Dresden residents who are longing for more security in their neighborhoods.

Drunk drivers and traffic accidents

In addition to the robberies, the high number of drunk cyclists and other road users also makes headlines. An 18-year-old fell while riding an e-scooter with a blood alcohol level of 1.6, while several cyclists also fell while intoxicated. A 19-year-old driver even ended up in a ditch after he was caught driving with over 1.1 per mille.

The situation on the roads is equally alarming, where there have been several accidents resulting in injuries. For example, a 66-year-old cyclist was injured in Kleinpestitz. A public bus had a collision in which five women were slightly injured. Such incidents make it clear that road safety remains an important issue for the city.

In addition to these incidents, there were break-ins at several stores on Thursday, including a beverage store. Unknown people stole numerous tobacco products worth 2,000 euros. Furthermore, two vehicles, a motorhome and a BMW, with a total value of 146,000 euros were stolen during the night.

The renewed attacks and traffic accidents are giving the police in Dresden a lot to do, and it remains to be hoped that the security situation will improve soon.
