A dangerous intervention in rail traffic can have serious consequences. According to Section 315 of the Criminal Code, even the smallest actions that endanger the safety of rail traffic are punishable and usually result in fines or imprisonment. In serious cases, there can even be prison sentences of up to ten years. Disruptive actions such as placing obstacles on the rails must be taken extremely seriously and can not only cause material damage, but also put the lives of travelers at risk.
Protection and prevention
The prevention of such dangerous interventions is a major concern for the Federal Police. Therefore, cooperation with the state police and Deutsche Bahn AG is constantly being intensified in order to further increase safety in rail traffic. The relevance of these measures is highlighted by incidents like the one in Dresden, where travelers' sense of security is at stake.
