Reichenbacher FC: After a 23-day break, the exciting training starts!
After a 23-day training break, Reichenbacher FC (RFC) resumed training on July 17, 2025. There were 16 attentive players present in the Wasserturm Stadium who want to prepare for the coming season. The new faces who joined the Reichenbachers during this transfer period also had a big impact. Particularly noteworthy are the external newcomers Manuel Strobel from Merkur Oelsnitz and David, who bring a breath of fresh air both in the dressing room and on the pitch.
Coach Carlo Kästner has big plans. His focus is particularly on the standards, which have often been perceived as needing improvement in recent weeks. This training phase is particularly valuable before the first test match against Meeraner SV, which will take place next Saturday. “We want to make the players better in all areas and lay the foundations for a successful season,” said Kästner.
Test match premiere with slight setbacks
Right at the start of the test match phase, Reichenbacher FC suffered a defeat against SG Handwerk Rabenstein on Sunday. The game, which took place on an artificial turf pitch and was educational for the RFC team, ended 1-2. Rabenstein clearly had the upper hand in the first half and took the lead through Mühlig in the 30th minute. Despite some good options, the RFC initially couldn't find an answer.
After the change, the Reichenbachers showed a significantly improved performance. In the 59th minute it was Schmelzer who equalized after a precise cross from Horn. The joy didn't last long, however, as the hosts soon took control again and made it 2-1 in the 75th minute. Until the final whistle, the RFC was no longer able to assert itself decisively.
Outlook for further training content
Despite the defeat, those responsible are optimistic about the future. The next test match is on Sunday at 2 p.m. against VfB Empor Glauchau. When planning training, it is important to set long-term goals. Effective training is not only varied, but should also include tactical and technical elements in order to continuously improve the teams. The training is supported by various types of exercises and games so that the players remain motivated and engaged.
The activities of the last few weeks clearly show that training planning is crucial to success in the amateur sector. Efficient training should always be tailored to the strengths and weaknesses of the team and also take external factors such as weather and field conditions into account. Ultimately, the coaches have the task of creating a healthy balance between fitness, technique and tactical understanding in order to optimally prepare the players for the games. This means that Reichenbacher FC remains on the right track to achieve a successful result in the upcoming season.
