Xenon invests 3.5 million euros and celebrates 35 years of innovation in Dresden!

In a pleasant turn, the Dresden automation specialist Xenon announced an impressive expansion project in the Coschütz-Gittersee industrial area on June 2, 2025. With an investment of 3.5 million euros, two new manufacturing halls and an office wing are being built. This is done at the same time as the company's 35th anniversary, which emerged from the Robotron combination in 1990.

Under the direction of business managers such as Tobias Reissmann and Hartmut Freitag, the company presents itself stable despite the challenging economic framework. Long -term orders ensure that the business is also on solid legs in times of economic flauts and crises in automotive construction. Internationality is also part of the recipe for success: parts of the production facilities are manufactured in Mexico and China, among others.

new perspectives in the hydrogen economy

An important step this year is the in -depth collaboration with Omron Electronics in the field of hydrogen technologies. Together, companies develop modern assembly processes for fuel cell and electrolyser stacks. The aim of this cooperation is to convert the production from manual to an automated form, which can significantly increase efficiency. The so-called High Speed Stacking Technology, which was developed by Xenon and Omron, has already successfully passed through the proof-of-concept phase.

This new technology, which is available for preliminary tests and tests at the headquarters in Dresden, enables the components to handle precisely and quickly, which is crucial for the efficiency, performance and service life of the fuel cells. Stacks that convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity or split water into hydrogen and oxygen play a central role in the hydrogen economy.

After the new manufacturing halls are to be completed with an area of 1750 square meters at the end of 2025, the Xenon Innovation Center will also create space for further developments: the Fraunhofer Institute will move into the new premises, while there is also space for innovative projects.

sustainability in focus

However,

Xenon's commitment goes beyond technical development. The company relies on sustainable energy supply for the newly built systems. The new building is heated by heat pumps and a solar system is to cover 20 to 25 percent of the electricity requirement. This is in accordance with the growing need for sustainable technologies, which also support numerous initiatives from the Fraunhofer Society. Among other things, these aim to protect circular exploitation systems in order to protect resources and promote sustainability.

The reports on the constant growth of Xenon and the continued relevance of their technologies are a positive sign of the market and the region, which may concentrate even more on the field of hydrogen economy and sustainable technologies in the coming years.

Further information on the developments in Xenon and the hydrogen economy can be found in the articles of Oiger , AutoCAD magazine as well as the information from Fraunhofer .
