What is blooming in the heart of Dresden Neustadt? On Saturday, June 21st, 2025, the Alumpark will be in full swing! A colorful neighborhood day under the motto “Partyzipate” promises a celebration for young and old. Organized by the night mediators, the Mobile Youth Work Dresden Neustadt as well as the Children and Youth Office and Aktion Civil Courage, the park opens its doors to all curious and party-loving people from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A promising program awaits visitors: various hands-on activities and workshops are offered, so there is something for everyone. The de-escalation workshops for children are particularly exciting, as they playfully train them in dealing with conflicts and asserting themselves. The “Learn to Argue” workshop also focuses on constructive conflict resolution and mutual understanding – and all of this free of charge thanks to financial support from the Free State of Saxony and the Neustadt District Advisory Council.
Creativity and community
In addition to the workshops, the Kieztag offers creative activities. If you like crafting, you can let your imagination run wild in the craft workshop. For art-loving souls, there is “Tag Team Graffiti Action” on legal spray areas – an excellent opportunity to express your creativity. And for the youngest guests, face painting is offered so that the little ones don't miss out on fun. Quiz questions at stands with food vouchers for the grill station provide additional motivation.
But that's not all! At the same time, the end-of-season event “Kieztag 2” will take place on the barn forecourt, with a focus on music and art. Organized by the Neustadt Art Festival and Mobile Youth Work, the live acts from the rap and electronic scene are just right for all music lovers. Artists like La Rey, Criz, Modern Data and many more provide rousing sounds that make the place shake.
An art festival for everyone
An art mile will also be presented in this context, where local artists have the opportunity to exhibit their works. Workshops on screen printing and textile design invite you to get creative yourself. And for fans of street art, there is a graffiti jam where talented sprayers conjure up works of art live. Kieztag is therefore not only a place to celebrate, but also to create - this is where the culture of the Neustadt comes to life!
The events are part of a larger goal: to create opportunities for underrepresented artistic perspectives and to provide a platform for reflection on structures in the cultural sector. Offers such as empowerment workshops support artists who are often interrupted in the cultural sector and invite discussion. Particular attention is paid to the topics of anti-discrimination and diversity, which will not only be discussed in the art fair, but also in future formats, such as the “DACademy – short formats for practice”.
A festival for all age groups, a place for encounters and a stage for creativity - the Kieztag in Alaunpark will certainly be a highlight of the Dresden summer season.
