Rail travelers in Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt will have to prepare for a bumpy journey in the coming weeks. Replacement traffic will be set up on this and other affected routes, but this could significantly increase travel times. Travelers should be prepared for some trains on the Wiesbaden-Dresden ICE line to start and end from Leipzig, while buses run between Leipzig and Dresden.
Restrictions on long-distance transport
Numerous ICE lines are affected by the construction work, such as the connections via Halle and Erfurt.
