Pharmacies between retaxation crises and digital opportunities: Act now!
Things will get exciting for the pharmacy industry on June 18th at 8 p.m.: The webinar “Gamechanger Retax Prevention” will go online and will cover a topic that many pharmacists are passionate about – retaxations. These not only waste time, but are also a real war of nerves and an economic risk for many pharmacies. Pharmacy Adhoc reports on the webinar series “Initiative Finance”, which is led by, among others, Sven Lobeda (pharmacist) and Matthias Loos (Noventi).
Retaxations are legitimate testing tools in the healthcare system, but their current form is placing a massive burden on pharmacies. Unclear rules and outdated systems often lead to defensive reactions from pharmacists. The webinar not only offers insights from everyday pharmacy life, but also strategies and tools for avoiding retax losses. Above all, recognizing structural errors is of central importance. Because only those who create transparency and expand their digital know-how can deal better with these challenges in the future.
Digitalization as an opportunity
Digital transformation is not coming to a halt in the healthcare sector either. According to the Bavarian State Chamber of Pharmacists (BLAK) and the North Rhine Chamber of Pharmacists (AKNR), the industry is pleased about new digital health applications (DiGAs). These are intended to improve the care of patients.
A current position paper from BLAK emphasizes that solid pharmaceutical and medical principles are important in DiGAs. Despite promising results in the DiGA market, however, there is stagnation in user numbers. An AKNR pilot project has already demonstrated the added value of pharmacies in DiGA therapies. The pharmacies must be included in the DiGA integration to ensure patient benefit and adherence to therapy.
Trust as an essential factor
Pharmacies benefit from their direct relationship with patients. You enjoy their trust and therefore make a valuable contribution to the supply of digital therapeutics. Dr. Andreas Ziegler from BLAK particularly emphasizes this. BLAK's position paper also addresses both opportunities and risks in the area of DiGA care and the added value that on-site pharmacies can offer.
The call to promote digital healthcare through local pharmacies is getting louder. Their integration into local health networks should significantly improve patient adherence to therapy.
