FC Erzgebirge Aue shows dominance: D and C juniors defeat Bad Brambach!
On October 7, 2025, a football festival with mixed feelings took place in the stadium on the Elsteraue in Adorf. The D-juniors of the Bad Brambach/Adorf syndicate had to admit defeat to FC Erzgebirge Aue 0-4 in the Saxony Cup game. The C-Juniors of the syndicate didn't have a good day either: they were also defeated by the U-14 team from Erzgebirge Aue with the same result.
Around 220 spectators came to watch the two exciting duels. Despite the defeats, the match was described as technically high quality, and the hosts even had three notable chances to score, which, however, remained unused. The games still offered an exciting experience for everyone present, even if the hope of a good result was not fulfilled.
Successful talents from Erzgebirge Aue
Aue itself is currently shining not only in the adult sector, but also in the youth sector. FC Erzgebirge Aue can be particularly proud of its U13, which won the Saxon state cup in 2024. The final round took place in Bautzen and featured eight teams competing for the title. The Auer U13 defeated Chemie Leipzig in the quarter-finals with a penalty shootout. In the semi-finals, the young talents showed their class by overcoming a 0-2 deficit against Budissa Bautzen and winning 6-4 in the shoot-out.
In the final they were able to prevail against Chemnitzer FC and win the cup with a dramatic 2-1 in the final minute. Goalkeeper Ian Simmert was a crucial figure and contributed significantly to the success. The entire final round was a spectacle with a total of twelve games and 66 goals, five of which were decided in the shootout. The event took place in optimal weather conditions, which added even more to the experience. A big thank you goes to the organizers of FSV Budissa Bautzen for the successful implementation of the final round.
These young talents make us optimistic about the future of football in the Erzgebirge – both among professionals and young talents. Let's be excited to see where the journey leads, because there is definitely still a lot of potential in the air.
