Neustadt is moving! Exciting funding projects in the council on June 2nd!

Dresden - On Monday, June 2, 2025, the monthly meeting of the city district advisory board will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the citizens' hall of the Neustadt city district office, Hoyerswerdaer Straße 3. The meeting is public and offers all interested citizens the opportunity to take part in the discussions and decision-making processes. These meetings are important contact points to find out about projects and plans in the neighborhood and to actively help shape the district's culture.

A variety of projects are under discussion

There are numerous exciting topics on the agenda. Particular focus is on the “Story Karaoke Bar” project, which will take place in the Societaetstheater. Here, karaoke and stories from the neighborhood are creatively combined. A grant of 2,000 euros was applied for for this innovative project.

Also on the agenda is the dance performance “City Dances”, which will be performed on August 24, 2025 in collaboration with Situation Productions. The funds amounting to 2,500 euros would be valuable support for the project.

Another highlight is theSamba parade, which will take place in Dresden on June 14th and 15th, 2025. Around 150 samba players from all over Europe will take part. The public rehearsal and performance in the Alaun Park are supported with a grant of 1,900 euros.

Commitment to the community

In addition, there are innovative approaches to integrating social issues into the district culture. Since January 2019, the Neustadt district office has had a new district funding guideline that enables the district advisory boards to support project ideas that have a connection to the district. The funding ranges from district-related projects to festivals and social projects that are intended to enrich cultural and social life in the new town. Another interesting initiative is the "Unfiltered Convos", which will start on June 13, 2025 at the InterLokal. These open conversations about social issues can be supported with a grant of 5,100 euros.

Last but not least, there are considerationsRemembrance, education and encounters at the old Leipzig train station, for which a series of events with funding of 9,900 euros was applied for.
