Art and culture: This awaits you at the Schaubudensummer in Dresden!
In the coming days, Dresden will once again become the scene of lively culture and fascinating entertainment. From July 1 to 3, 2025, the main street in Neustadt turns into a colorful stage at the Schaubudensommer , the International Summer Festival for Theater, pleasure and music. From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., talented street artists present: inside from Dresden, Germany and all of Europe, their bizarre numbers and creative contributions. The festival not only aims to strengthen the cultural connection between the Neustadt and the old town, but should also serve as an after -work design for all strolling and determined people. Not only art is celebrated here, but also the everyday life in the city is reflected in an entertaining way.
The highlights of the Schaubudensummer appears by Jan Ereak, who enchants with stage magic, Shiva Grings, who inspires with humor, as well as the circus show from Common Ground. Daan Mathot and Vincent de Rooij bring a theater production with a wardrobe to the stage that arouses curiosity and astonishment.

But that's not all! The region also offers some impressive theater performances. The last production before a comprehensive renovation is listed on the Waldbühne Jonsdorf: "Robin Hood". This staging of the legendary medieval hero takes place between July 5 and 27, 2025. The Waldbühne, embedded in nature, offers a wonderful backdrop for this adventurous story.
Another highlight is the opera "Der Freischütz" by Carl Maria von Weber, which is performed on the Rathen rock stage. Under the direction of Manfred Schöbel and with musical performance by the Elblandphilharmonie, visitors can experience on July 25th and 26th, as Max has to convince with a trial fire at the shooting festival. The performance takes a total of 165 minutes with a break and promises an unforgettable experience.

On June 28th, the adventure piece "Shatterhand" is listed, which is based on the stories of Karl May. Here the conflict dynamics between Apache and Comanche are dramatically staged and addresses the challenges of colonization and warfare. This performance will captivate the audience with a period of 150 minutes.
In addition, the audience awaits the dance performance "Vice Versa" in the Semperoper, which addresses the power of the wind. Compiled by the choreographers Imre and Marne van Opstal, this staging together with the play "Noetic" by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui on July 1st, 4th, 6th and 10th.
