Elbhangfest 2025: A weekend full of art and music in Dresden!
The eagerly awaited Elbhangfest will take place in Dresden from June 27th to 29th - this year in its 30th edition. The event, organized by committed volunteers, is free and delights its visitors with more than 255 program items and over 250 artists. A real feast for all the senses! Friday evening in particular is a highlight with the “Krachwitz” program, featuring DJs like Fräulein Clara and Fabian Girard. The DJs will heat up the atmosphere on Fidelio-F.-Finke-Straße from 6 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.
Fans of art and crafts also have the opportunity to explore the various stalls at a craft market on Fidelio-F.-Finke-Straße between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday evening. Great things are also on offer on Saturday: yoga will be offered outdoors from 9 a.m., followed by a varied stage program in the evening with Tom Atlas and Rico Löwe. The entire program can be viewed online at www.elbhangfest.de/programm/ can be viewed.
Arrival and parking options
There are various options available to ensure that your journey to the Elbhangfest goes smoothly. The tram and buses take guests comfortably to the Schillerplatz, Körnerplatz and Hermann-Seidel-Straße stops. If you prefer something a little more romantic, you can use the mountain railways: the funicular runs on the first day of the festival from 6.30 a.m. to 9.30 p.m., the suspension railway from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. For ferry lovers, there are connections from Niederpoyritz to Laubegast and from Pillnitz to Kleinzschachwitz.
However, drivers should be careful: parking spaces are rather scarce in the festival area. It is therefore recommended to use the parking spaces in Gleischleife Pillnitz, Goldener Löwe and the Schillergalerie underground car park. Anyone who parks on the festival grounds without authorization must expect to be towed away.
Special attractions
The Elbhangfest is much more than a simple street festival. It is a joint effort and brings together over 60 private initiatives, including clubs, artists and craftsmen. Particularly noteworthy are the various musical performances and culinary delicacies. Spanish guitar music and organ sounds will be heard on several stages. There is also a lot on offer for children: entry is free for everyone up to the age of 18. This year's motto “Before the Seven Mountains” also leaves room for creative development.
On Saturday evening, visitors should not miss the opportunity to see the German premiere “Moiré Experience” in Loschwitz or to experience the performances of “La Fanfarria del Capitan” and the “Dresdner Hepcats”. An arts and crafts market will create a great atmosphere in both Loschwitz and Pillnitz. A wine village will be held at Pillnitz Castle and a final concert will be held in the Weinbergkirche.
Supporter wristband and further information
A supporter wristband for 10 euros not only helps the Elbhangfest and its financing, but also offers the chance to take part in a raffle for tickets to the Semperoper. In addition, all events in the Pillnitz Castle Park are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission costs between 8 euros (children under 16 are free).
So, let’s go to the Elbhangfest! You can expect a colorful hustle and bustle, great music and a happy get-together under the festival motto “In front of the seven mountains”. Further information can be found on the website of Saxon, Elbe slope festival and Dresden cultural calendar.
