The incident on Karl-Marx-Straße speaks a worrying language, especially in connection with another fire that occurred in the same city last week. Here an apartment on Alexander-Herzen-Straße fell in full fire on Friday around 1.30 a.m. The 80-year-old resident, against whom it is now also being investigated for negligent arson, had saved himself onto the balcony when the fire brigade arrived. The emergency services saved the senior, which was then transported to the clinic. The man's apartment was completely destroyed and is now uninhabitable, such as Tag24 reports.

rescue with a lot of effort

As part of the operation, the apartment door had to be opened by force to combat the flames from the inside. The fire brigade was on site with 54 emergency services, including teams from Albertstadt, Übigau, Neustadt and the district fire brigades Wilschdorf and Klotzsche. An 83-year-old resident of the apartment above suffered flue gas poisoning and also had to go to the hospital. Thanks to the support of the police, all other residents were able to leave the building unharmed. After the extinguishing measures and malicious gas measurements, the residents were finally allowed to return to their apartments.

These recent incidents also highlight the dangers of fires in residential areas and the need for fast action. While the investigation into the cause of the fire continues, the citizens hope that such dangerous situations can be avoided in the future.
