Neustadt only 3rd place: Why students prefer the southern suburb!

A recent survey has shown that Dresdner Neustadt is no longer the undisputed top district for students. An online vote by the Sächsische Zeitung in September showed that Neustadt only came in third place. A total of 1,449 Dresden residents cast their votes, and Südvorstadt took first place with 294 votes, followed by Löbtau with 289 votes. Outer Neustadt received 203 votes, which accounts for 14 percent of the total votes. The reasons for these changes can probably best be clarified by talking to the students who currently live in the area. Sächsische.de reports.

Dresden, with its 64 districts and a remarkable 62 percent of green spaces, is a hotspot for students. Over 34,000 students live in the city, which is known for its university of excellence. Rents in the popular neighborhoods vary, and this often makes the search for suitable accommodation varied and exciting. The Outer Neustadt in particular has a lively atmosphere and many leisure activities to offer, but other districts such as Striesen and Löbtau are also very popular.

Popular student districts at a glance

Students have the choice between different districts that have their own charm.

There are also numerous student halls of residence spread across the city, such as those on Zellesche Weg, which are often a cheap alternative to renting in the trendy districts. How Dresden lives informed.

Overall, Neustadt remains a popular destination among students despite its ranking in third place. The mix of lively nightlife, good connections and a creative scene continue to make it an attractive place to live. But the competition never stops, and it remains exciting to see how the university town will develop in the coming years. Hey Dresden has further insights.
