Three cyclists injured in accident on Elbe cycle path – witnesses wanted!

On Thursday morning there was an unfortunate incident on the popular Elbe cycle path in which three cyclists were slightly injured. At around 9 a.m. between the Loschwitz Bridge and the Waldschlößchen Bridge, an unknown cyclist overtook several other cyclists and hit an 11-year-old cyclist. She fell and sustained minor injuries. The 47-year-old cyclist who was riding directly behind her also fell and at the same time caused another accident with a 24-year-old cyclist who was traveling towards Waldschlößchenbrücke and also fell to the ground. This then ended with the injured people being seen on the ground.

Surprisingly, the cyclist who caused the accident simply left the scene after the incident without paying any attention to the injured. The traffic accident service has now started an investigation and is urgently looking for witnesses who may have observed the incident. Increasing number of accidents among cyclists
