Diversion of tram line 10 in Dresden: Important information for passengers!

Dresden public transport users will have to prepare for changes on Tuesday, June 6, 2025. Due to repair work on a switch on Friedrichstrasse, at the junction with Vorwerkstrasse, tram line 10 is being rerouted. This reports Sächsische.de.

The diversion takes effect at 7 p.m. and ends shortly before midnight. In the direction of Striesen, line 10 does not run as usual between the Vorwerkstraße and Bahnhof Mitte stops. Instead, passengers have to go via Waltherstrasse and Schäferstrasse. The connection to Messe Dresden remains unchanged.

Alternative travel options

Passengers traveling at Friedrichstadt Hospital should know that they have to change to the bus. Alternatively, bus route 68 is available, which also serves the region.

But it's not just line 10 that is affected. Another focus is on the extensive diversions that will come into force next weekend for a total of five tram lines. This affects lines 3, 7, 8, 9 and 11, like Day24 reported.

Details about the diversions

The diversions will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and end at 3 a.m. on Monday. For additional comfort, a replacement bus service is offered between Dr.-Külz-Ring and the main train station as well as between Gret-Palucca-Straße and Pirnaischer Platz.

Strong local transport is important to maintain mobility in Dresden. The networking of the various means of transport plays an important role. The VBB demonstrates how a coordinated system can work not only in the city, but also in the surrounding area. The ability to easily switch between different modes of transport such as buses, S-Bahn and subway is an advantage for all passengers in the region.

The people of Dresden can therefore adapt to changed timetables, but should use the variety of alternative connections. This makes it possible to reach your goal quickly.
