Detirement of tram line 10 in Dresden: Important information for passengers!

Friedrichstadt, Deutschland - The Dresden public transport users have to prepare for changes on Tuesday, June 6, 2025. Due to repair work on a switch on Friedrichstrasse, at the confluence with Vorwerkstrasse, tram line 10 is diverted. This reports Sächsische.de .

The diversion comes into force at 7 p.m. and ends shortly before midnight. In the direction of Striesen, line 10 does not run as usual between the Vorwerkstraße and Mitte train station. Instead, passengers have to dodge via Waltherstrasse and Schäferstrasse. The connection towards Messe Dresden remains unchanged.

alternative arrival options

passengers who are traveling at the Friedrichstadt hospital should know that they have to change on the bus. Alternatively, bus line 68 is available, which also serves the region.

But not only line 10 is affected. There is further focus on the extensive diversions that will come into force for a total of five tram lines this coming weekend. This affects lines 3, 7, 8, 9 and 11, such as Tag24 reported.

Details on the diversions

  • line 3: drives from wild man to Pirnaischer Platz, then as line 11 via Dr.-Külz-Ring and Postplatz to Eisenbahnstrasse. In the opposite direction from Coschütz to the main train station, then as line 11 to Zschertnitz.
  • line 7: detour between Pirnaischer Platz and Freiberger Straße via Wilsdruffer Straße.
  • line 8: drives to Dr.-Külz-Ring, then as a line 9 via Pirnaische Platz and Carolabrücke to Kaditz; From the main station as line 9 to Prohlis.
  • line 9: detour from Kaditz via Carolabrücke, from Dr.-Külz-Ring as line 8 to Hellerau.
  • line 11: from Eisenbahnstrasse to Dr.-Külz-Ring, then as line 3 towards Wilder Mann.

The diversions start on Friday at 5 p.m. and end on Monday at 3 a.m. A replacement traffic with buses between Dr.-Külz-Ring and the main train station as well as between Gret-Palucca-Straße and Pirnaischer Platz is offered for additional comfort.

Heavy local transport is important to maintain mobility in Dresden. The networking of different means of transport plays an important role. The VBB demonstrates how a coordinated system can work not only in the city but also in the surrounding area. The possibilities of changing between different transport companies such as bus, S-Bahn and subway are an advantage for all passengers in the region.

The Dresdeners can therefore adapt to changed timetables, but should use the variety of alternative connections. So it is possible to get to the goal quickly.
